Most writers are told to choose: write what you love, or write what sells. We don’t think you have to. We start with your passions, track what the market is actually buying, and find the sweet spot where the two overlap. Then we build your idea, your manuscript, and your author brand right there, coaching you through every stage until you’re ready to query or publish.

EDITING

Assessment edit

A full read-through, a written summary of what is working and what is not, and a clear recommendation of what your manuscript needs next.

Developmental edit

An in-depth, 7-15-page edit letter addressing plot structure, story conflict, characters, relational arcs, worldbuilding, pacing, voice, and strategic market placement—with suggestions on HOW to fix things.
PRICING:
$800 → up to 40,000 words
$1400 → 40,000–60,000
$1700 → 60,000 - 80,000
$2000 → 80,000–100,000
$40 per 1,000 words above 100,000, rounded up to the nearest 1,000
Line edit

A thorough polish of the whole manuscript: rhythm, flow, clarity, and the prose-level choices that protect your voice. The cost depends on how much hands-on work the prose needs, so we read your first two chapters and quote from there.

Copy edit and proofread

The final two passes before publication, catching grammar, punctuation, consistency, and everything else readers would notice. Similar to a line edit, the cost depends on how much hands-on work the prose needs, so we read your first two chapters and quote from there.

Proofread: up to 30k - $500, up to 50k - $750, up to 75k - $1000, up to 100k - $1300, up to 130k - $1600

Publicity campaign

Two months or longer. We build your marketing plan, media kit, press release, pitches, and outlet list, and then we pitch your book to the best spots (such as podcasts, reviewers, bookstores, libraries, and the media most likely to love it).
Includes a full report on every pitch sent.

Platform creation

Your choice of an author website, Substack newsletter, or podcast built, branded, and ready to publish.

Questions about cost and scope

How do I know which edit my manuscript needs?
We’ll work it out together on your free call. If it isn’t clear from talking it through, we’ll read the manuscript first with an assessment, and tell you honestly what it needs, which is often less than authors expect.

Can I book a single service instead of a package?
Yes. Every add-on can be booked on its own. Packages exist because they’re simpler and better value when you need several things at once.

Can I pay in installments?
Absolutely. We work with every author to come up with a payment plan that works best for them.

What if my manuscript is longer than 100,000 words?
Long manuscripts are common, especially in fantasy and science fiction. In that case, only the pricing for the editing portion changes. We add a modest per-thousand-word rate above 100,000, and everything else in your package stays the same price. We’ll give you the exact figure before you book, so there are no surprises.

Can I buy an agent introduction?
No. Introductions are offered at our invitation (always free of charge) when we believe a manuscript is ready and we see a good fit.
